Irish rock band U2 are currently touring the world on the 360degrees tour, but it seems they may be destroying some football pitches at the same time.
Two pitches have been ruined in the last week, leading to one match being cancelled and debris being found on the other.

The Scottish third division match between Queens Park and Albion Rovers was called off after a pitch inspection on Friday, some 3 days after U2 played at Hampden Park (Queens Park’s home).

League 2 side Rochdale will be making an official complaint to U2′s tour management after glass and nails were found on the pitch before their game at Rotherham.

Rochdale assistant manager David Flitcroft said, “We had a report done before the game at about 1.20pm. We found shards of glass and two nails as we came off the pitch. Just doing a warm-down session with the players, I found five pieces of glass. I don’t know where the blame lies for the state of the pitch but I do know the referee took responsibility for that game and, if one of our players had torn a big gash out of his leg due to glass or something, well.“
“It’s been an absolute shambles from an organisation point of view from this stadium. Before the game, we questioned whether the game should have been played.”
“If I’d have brought my team down to a non-league venue and that was the state of the pitch, I would’ve just walked off. If it was a friendly, I would’ve just walked off.”
“Players’ safety becomes an issue. So why this game got arranged to play on a Sunday straight after a concert is beyond me”

Next up for the pitch destruction tour? US stadiums Soldier Field, Gillette Stadium and Meadowlands. Lets see if the Bears, the Pats and the Jets fair better than the Dale and the Spiders
