Now the draw for the group stages of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and we know that England will face the USA, Algeria and Slovenia, it might well be a good time to have a look at the possible routes that England will take if they are going to win the World Cup.
If England win Group C, they will play the runners up in Group D, probably Ghana in the 1st round of the knockout stages..
If England progress, they will most likely play France in quarter final..
A win in the quarter final means England will probably face Brazil in the semi final…
Another win would mean a first World Cup final appearance for England since 1966, probably against either Argentina, Italy, Germany or Spain…
But should England only finish as Runners up in Group C, the job would perhaps be a bit harder…
Probably Germany in the 1st Knockout round…
Probably Argentina in the Quarter finals…
Probably Spain or Italy in the Semi finals…
And then probably Brazil in the final…
4 former World Cup winners to beat in order to lift the trophy!!
Doesnt sound too easy whichever way you look at it, but then if Capello’s men are to bring home the trophy, they need to be good enough to beat whatever team is put in front of them.
Can they do it? Only time will tell

Rather great entry, very informative stuff. Never considered I would obtain the info I want right here. I have been scouring all around the internet for some time now and was starting to get frustrated. Thankfully, I happened across your site and received precisely what I had been hunting for.

Though I would’ve loved it much more if you added a relevant video or at least pictures to back up the explanation, I still thought that your write-up quite helpful. It’s usually hard to make a complicated matter seem very easy. I enjoy your weblog and will sign up to your feed so I will not miss anything. Fantastic content
