Another week, another ‘Ledley King is falling to bits’ update.

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has confirmed that his stricken centre-back does now require surgery on the troublesome groin problem that forced the defender to break down during training a couple of weeks ago – adding that the 30-year-old defender isn’t even close to making a return to the first-team fold.

Redknapp told Sky Sports News this morning:

“Ledley will have to have an operation. He is nowhere near ready to play.”

Surely it’s high-time for Ledders to bite the bullet and accept that, when it comes to a tit-for-tat scrap between you and the unswerving laws of complete physiological deterioration, there can only really be one winner.
